Tell us a little about yourself. When and why did you start baking?My name is Tish Spence. I'm a mom of three and a Medical Laboratory Scientist by day. I've always loved to bake but I started practicing actual cake decorating for my daughter's 1st birthday in April 2017. My mom made my first birthday cake so I wanted to continue the tradition. I started by watching videos and ended up making her a two-tiered unicorn cake. It was much more fun for me than I ever anticipated and I received delightful compliments on it. Each time I would post something that I made on Facebook I would get asked when I was going to start selling things. In the beginning, it was mostly family and friends that supported my new hobby/ small business through word-of-mouth. Now I receive orders on my Facebook page from people I've never met before. I love connecting with new people! It's such an honor to me when I get asked to create something unique for my customers and their loved ones on their special occasions. I get so excited when it's time to send photos of the finished order. To see their reactions is truly heartwarming. I began with small cakes and cupcake orders. Recently, this year, I started getting more orders for sugar cookies which as it turns out are so much fun! I absolutely love all of the little finishing details.What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without?I definitely couldn't live without the Cake Stuff hand-crafted sprinkle medleys. They are absolutely adorable. I cannot resist picking up a new one when I go in to get any other supplies I may need. The staff is also so friendly and helpful anytime I have a question. Also, most of my cookie cutters have come from Cake Stuff.
