Wichita Wednesday (Sept. 15th) - Kaitlyn Spaulding

Tell us a little about yourself. When and why did you start baking? My name is Kaitlyn, I'm 25 years old and I started baking because it was a way for me to express my artwork. I grew up painting, drawing, sculpting clay, anything I could get my hands on to create something special, my father is a graphic designer and my mother is a photographer so I was born and raised in an artistic family! What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without?I love Cake Stuff's wide selection of food colors! I use them to hand paint my cakes, when that clock is on crunch time I know Cake Stuff has my back for whatever color | need.If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?I'd love to bake with Duff Goldman, the infamous Ace of Cakes.Do you have a local baking business, or do you just bake/decorate for fun?I started off baking as a hobby, but after at least 50 people telling me to start a business, I did exactly that! My business name is Edible Art Bakery. I try to focus on hyperrealism instead of your traditional bakes. My cakes can take me anywhere from 8 to 30 hours to complete. They are sculpted from modeling chocolate and meticulously hand-painted. You can find more of my work on Facebook @edibleartbakeryks.
