Wichita Wednesday (Sept. 8th) - Taylor Kissell
Tell us a little about yourself. When and why did you start baking?I grew up helping my grandparents in the kitchen. They instilled a love for baking in me and being in the kitchen crafting old and new recipes is like having a very sentimental piece of them still with me. I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 5 years and recently step away to raise my sweet 8 months old. While now having so much time at home, I began baking consistently, and created a Facebook page called "Taylor's Tasty Treats" where I sell baked goods! What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without? One Cake Stuff item I could not live without is Americolor food coloring! I can always count on them to give me a bright burst of color! If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?If I could bake with someone famous, I'd choose to work with the one and only cake boss, Buddy Valastro!Do you have a local baking business, or do you just bake/decorate for fun?I have a small baking business called, "Taylor's Tasty Treats" that I began on June 3rd of this year! I take some custom orders, depending on the request! I also bake a variety of cakes, cupcakes, and cookies to sell. I hope to keep learning, finding joy in the simplicity of getting to make homemade treats from my own kitchen, and watch my business grow as the Lord wills for it to do so! I'm also hoping to roll out a website soon where you can find more information about my new business, but for now, you can 'Like' Taylor's Tasty Treats on Facebook! I'm grateful for everyone's support! A big "Thank You" also to Cake Stuff for supporting local, small businesses, supplying all the goods for my baking needs, and being a great encouragement to keep on baking!
