Wichita Wednesday (Oct 7th) - Heather Arredondo
Tell us a little about yourself. When and why did you start baking? My name is Heather Arredondo. I live in Haysville, Kansas and have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband for 22 years! We have four sons and a grandson. I don't have a specific time that I started baking and decorating, I actually happened upon the craft several years ago. I am a self-taught baker and decorator and as I learn something new with baking and decorating, I keep falling in love with the craft even more. Making something for someone that is enjoyable to look at as well as taste great just fills me with joy! I'm always up for a creative challenge and my clients usually find those for me!What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without?I cannot live without is the paper supplies, such as boxes and containers. I probably spend the most on those items. I love everything in the store, I have found useful items in every corner. I also have to have the high ratio shortening for my buttercream, it's a must! Lastly, the staff at Cake Stuff is always willing to answer my questions and give advice when I have a crazy idea or trying something new. They are the best!!If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?I would love to at least shadow and learn from Buddy from the Cake Boss and or Duff from Charm City Cakes! They are both incredibly talented people that create awesome works of edible art. Learning anything from them personally would be an incredible experience.Do you have a local baking business, or do you just bake/decorate for fun?I bake and decorate for fun otherwise it would be a JOB, but I do have a small local business out of my home. You can reach me on my Facebook page J&H Custom Creations and on Instagram.
