Tell us a little about yourself. When and why did you start baking?My name is Stephanie Johnson, born and raised in Wichita, wife to an amazing man and mother of 2 boys. I had always wanted to learn how to make decorated cookies that had "the hard icing" so we could make it a holiday tradition with my boys. After taking a Halloween themed decorating class at Cake Stuff, I was hooked. I bought every single book I could find online and read every blog. Back then being a "Cookier" really wasn't a thing.What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without?There are SO many things I love about Cake Stuff, but I can't live without their cookie cutters and air brush stencils! Just as the industry has grown, so has the variety at Cake Stuff. The staff is always there to answer all my crazy questions and even help with ideas and techniques, so I guess I can't live without them either.If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?Without a doubt, it would be Julia Child.Do you have a local baking business, or do you just bake/decorate for fun?What started out as a stay-at-home mom weekend craft project, quickly turned into a bustling business, and Sweets by Steph was born. I never could have imagined how successful it would become or the opportunities that have come my way because of it. I specialize in decorated sugar cookies but have also been known to make other delicious treats throughout the year. I celebrated 10 years in January and look forward to all the blessings that the next 10 years of being a Cookier will bring.
