Tell us a little about yourself. When and why did you start baking?My name is Penny and I am a cake maker and sugar artist based in Somerset, UK. I first started making cakes over twenty years ago for my children's birthday parties. I never expected to turn my hobby into a full-time profession, however, several years ago I was asked to make a special celebration cake for a friend and realized my passion was still there! I gradually started taking on more orders and eventually founded my business, Penny Bakes, in 2014. I love creating personalized cakes, 3D modeling, and sugar flowers.What is one baking item you cannot live without?It's been a revelation to discover the Colour Mill products, I couldn't live without those now!If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?I really admire the cakes of Suzanne Esper and would love the opportunity to have a one-to-one class with her!Do you have a local baking business, or do you just bake/decorate for fun?I've been running my business, Penny Bakes, since 2014.
