Wichita Wednesday (Sept 9th) - Jourdan Sullivan
Tell us about yourself. When and why did you start baking/decorating?My name is Jourdan, I'm a mother to two beautiful little girls who love to help in the kitchen. I've been baking "unofficially” since I was a little girl. I've always loved art and being creative so once I started I couldn't stop. I love the decorating and details!Who has been the most influential person to you when it comes to baking/ decorating?Firstly, my great granny. I remember growing up watching her making homemade pies, pastries, etc. She was so resourceful with using her ingredients it was truly amazing! We had a huge family so she had to make things stretch but she was known to feed anyone in the neighborhood. I also learned a lot from my mother who passed a lot of knowledge and recipes on to me. I hope to do the same with my girls. What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without?Definitely the butter vanilla emulsion flavoring! If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?I know he's more of a cook but Gordon Ramsey!Do you have a local baking business or do you bake/decorate for fun?I do have a home bakery business!! I started officially at the start of the pandemic (March) and it's definitely taken off! I started with treats (Stuffed Waffle Cones) now I'm taking mostly cake orders but still accept any custom treats. My most popular treats are my banana crack/pudding, homemade cinnamon rolls, and cobblers! You can check out all my work on Facebook at Sullivan's Sweet or https://linktr.ee/SullivanSweets
