 When and why did you start baking/decorating?I started decorating birthday cakes almost 40 yrs ago when my oldest daughter was born. I started out making cakes for family only. After playing around with cakes for 10 yrs I made my 1st wedding cake. My little hobby continues today.Who has been the most influential person to you when it comes to baking/decorating?I got excited about cake decorating at a very young age as I watched my mom create birthday cakes for my siblings and myself.What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without?When I first started decorating there was no such thing as a disposable decorating bags! I had to wash every bag by hand to reuse! I could never do that again so my one Cake Stuff item I cannot live without are the disposable decorating bags.If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?I enjoy watching Buddy Valastro on Cake Boss and would love to decorate a cake or two with him.Do you have a local baking business, or do you just bake/decorate for fun?I mainly decorate cakes for family and friends. I have no website or Facebook page. My business is built strictly from word of mouth. I am excited that my granddaughter is taking interest in learning cake decorating. She helps me and is currently learning all my little secrets!
