Wichita Wednesday (June 2nd) - Reagan Ewing

Tell us a little about yourself. When and why did you start baking? My name is Reagan Ewing and I'm 11 years old. I started baking when I was really little with my mom. When the pandemic started I had more time at home to bake and decorate so I used that time to improve my skills. I started baking a lot of different treats from scratch like cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, angel food cake, cheesecake, and much more. I enjoy decorating cakes and make them for my family for birthdays and holidays. I spent a long time perfecting a macaron recipe that I'm really proud of too. Macarons are my favorite treat. I also learned that I'm allergic to nuts this fall and have now come up with a nut-free macaron recipe. What is one Cake Stuff item you cannot live without?A Cake Stuff item I can't live without is the Americolor Gel Colors. I use them in all of my cakes and macarons. If you could bake/decorate with anyone famous who would it be?If I could bake/decorate with anyone famous it would be Rosanna Pansino. I want to make a cake with her on Nerdy Nummies someday. I have both of her cookbooks and make things from them often.Do you have a local baking business, or do you just bake/decorate for fun?I don't have a baking business. I mostly just bake for fun and family events. I have sold some cakes and macarons to family friends.
