The Giving Plate Cookie Decorating Class with Heidi
January 23 @ 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM CST
Start a tradition of generosity with this winter-themed cookie decorating class! Heidi will teach you how to outline and flood cookies as well as the wet-on-wet technique. You will leave class with four beautiful cookies, a giving plate, a take-home box, and recipes. $40/person.
After class, the idea is to fill your plate with your decorated treats and give it to a family member or friend. That person fills it with their homemade goodies and passes it on, and so on. A poem is printed on the plate describing the tradition. Using your own permanent marker, write your name and date on the back to track the plate’s travels. The 12″ plate is made of Melamine so should only be hand washed and should not be used in a microwave.
The poem on the plate reads:
“This plate shall have no owner for its journey never ends. It travels in a circle of our family and friends. It carries love from home to home for everyone to share. The food that’s placed upon it was made with love and care. So please enjoy what’s on the plate, then fill it up again. Then pass along the love it holds to your family and friends.”
